When and where is the Ramon Hackathon?
March 27th-28th, 2019, Be-All Alon, 94 Igal Alon st., Tel Aviv. It starts on Wednesday 9:00 and will end by Thursday at 21:00.
What is a Hackathon?
A hackathon is a competitive event in which teams work intensively for two days to develop ideas to meet a given challenge. The outcome can be a business plan, a product demo, a mockup or others.
Where can I register?
Registration for participants is now open!
Registration for teams will be open until February 25th, 2019.
If you do not have a team - you can register by February 21st, 2019.
Do I register as an individual or as a team?
Both. Registration for individuals will close on Feb.10th to allow us time to team you up with other individuals or relevant groups.
Is there a maximum number of participants in a team?
Teams should not exceed 6 participants. From our experience the best team size is typically 4-5 participants.
Can we compete with a pre-existing project?
Yes, as long as you keep working and advancing your project during the hackathon.
Can I bring my own equipment?
Can a team come up with a project that is not inspired by the challenges or is it mandatory to work on the given challenges?
Teams can come up with their own creative projects as long as they are related to one of the three focus areas: Homeland Security, Maritime, Commercial.
Is the event limited to just space and satellite experts?
Absolutely not! Any scientist, engineer, developer, entrepreneur, business analyst or a Startup in relevant fields (Computer science, big data, machine learning, computer vision, image processing, space and satellites, homeland security, maritime) are welcome to participate.
What will I eat? [kosher, vegetarian, vegan, GF, etc]
We will provide kosher food and beverages throughout the day and night. There will be vegan options. If you have any other dietary limitations, please mention that in your application.
Where will I sleep?
We will provide a sleeping area with mattresses and bean bags to relax and get some shut-eye. We recommend bringing anything that would make you feel comfortable - from blankets to onesies.

According to which criteria the winners will be selected?
The projects will be selected according to the following criteria: Business Viability, Technological Viability, Innovation , Team and Social Impact.
